With so much craziness in the world today, it is easy to feel lost, scared or upset. It’s difficult to stay positive, but it is possible and it begins with you. Make a decision to take control of your own happiness and to be intentional about cultivating a positive attitude.


These are 25 ways – tested, tried and true (by yours truly) – that you can begin to implement in your life today. The journey to happiness isn’t always easy but it’s always worth it. YOU are worth it.

  1. Surround yourself with positive people.
  2. Slow down.
  3. Check your inner dialogue.
  4. Unfollow negative people on social media.
  5. Follow positive people on social media.
  6. Work out the negativity – literally. Walk, run, yoga… anything!
  7. Smile.
  8. Get enough sleep.
  9. Be present.
  10. Encourage those around you to be positive, too!
  11. Set goals.
  12. Talk to someone.
  13. Surround yourself with things that make you smile.
  14. Adopt an attitude of gratitude.
  15. Start a gratitude journal.
  16. Do something nice for yourself.
  17. Get outside – go for a walk.
  18. Take the no-complaining challenge.
  19. Laugh! Watch something funny or go to a stand-up comedy show.
  20. Meditate.
  21. Drink water; take good care of your physical health.
  22. Resist the urge to compare yourself to others.
  23. Listen to upbeat music.
  24. Have a dance party of one.
