You don’t even need a mat, actually. Grab a beach towel and you’re ready to go. All you need is yourself and the internet (which I know you have, since you’re reading this right now).

These videos are courtesy of Adriene Mishler, the founder of Yoga with Adriene and the Find What Feels Good community. I don’t get paid to promote any of this, I just genuinely love her and her teaching style. She is super down-to-earth, articulately explains the poses, and brings her own witty personality to the mat. She teaches with grace and gentleness, encouraging everyone to embrace who and where they are. I got started with her first 30 Days of Yoga video series back in 2015, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.

This 6-minute vlog from Yoga with Adriene will quickly introduce you to your new yoga practice and set the tone for the videos you’ll be using. It’s a great way to launch your new home yoga practice.
This 20-minute video is a perfect first practice. It’s gentle and not too long, so you can schedule it into your busier days. You’ll walk through some basic postures and learn some of the terminology that will be used in future videos.
If you have a little more time, give this 41-minute video a try. The poses are broken down into smaller steps, so you can really understand how it all comes together. Repeat this video as many times as you need to get a feel for the practice.
This is a great video to work into a regular rotation. This 40-minute practice will help you build a solid foundation and guide you into a consistent home yoga practice. Try it a couple times a week and see how you feel.
This yoga playlist on the Yoga with Adriene YouTube channel is a wealth of yoga knowledge. Each video breaks down a specific pose. If you ever find yourself struggling with a pose or needing a more detailed explanation, look up the pose in this playlist and practice along a few times. This is an excellent resource for all levels of yoga practitioners.
The most important thing you can do as a beginner is to just start where you are, with what you have. It is a journey, and a personal one. Your experiences won’t look like mine, nor mine like yours – and that’s the beauty of the whole thing. So don’t get discouraged if it’s not what you think it should be. Just continue to show up for yourself and let it unfold.
